God of the in-between

God of the in-between

Of course I'll find you on the mountains

But between them lies spaces of shadows

Where loneliness clings like a blanket in winter

And I wonder, will I feel your warmth there too?

You are my insulin when the excited emotions surge

I'm dizzy and my head is spinning as we crash

Will you steady me so I don't fall?

Are you the God of the in-between?

The stars don't shine so brightly tonight

And the sun pretends it's too far gone

But my hope howls loudly in the wind

Yearning to be seen in the absence of light

So I lay my head down to sleep

Because I know there's rest in store

And I feel the warmth of the arm under my head

It's Jesus, the God of the in-between

Lay It Down

Lay It Down
